Enamel Pendant Class

2 min read

Learn something new while having fun with friends or family!

This class is ideal for groups who want to try a new activity together and leave with a finished piece of wearable art.

“Catherine’s ability to bring a group together, to create an inviting atmosphere in her studio space, and then to make sure everyone is happy, comfortable and — most importantly — having fun, is impressive! It was exciting to discover how I could create a piece of jewelry, a personal piece of art, that is so unique and also meaningful to me — with my own hands. I loved it!”

Part social hour/part art creation, the enamel pendant class is a fun way to learn about drawing and enameling while connecting with friends, family, and/or co-workers in a relaxed art studio.

Excellent for:

  • Team building - better than a trust lift, make art with co-workers
  • Celebrate milestones - birthdays, bachelorette/bridal, promotions, holidays
  • Fun alternate outing for your book or card club

Engage your brain - learning new things keeps life vibrant!

Each participant leaves with a finished copper and vitreous (glass) enamel pendant on a sterling silver jump ring.

There's an option to buy an accompanying sterling silver chain so you can wear it out the door.

I prepare copper parts in a variety of shapes so each person can pick their favorite. Each piece is shaped and prepared with base coats of white enamel.

The class starts with a quick drawing game ice breaker. Then each participant has time to sketch and discuss ideas, eventually using special enamel pencils, drawing directly on both sides of the metal to create a reversible pendant.

Nervous about drawing abilities? Don't worry, even the artistically challenged make beautiful pendants - simple lines and patterns go a long way in this medium.

Extended social time evolves as people move around and watch their pieces go in the kiln to be fired to a permanent smooth gloss.

Water and hot tea is provided. Groups are welcome to bring snacks and drinks to imbibe as their pendants are finalized.

“I went with a group of girlfriends to Catherine’s studio to make enameled pendants and they turned out so gorgeous! Catherine walked us through the entire process — helping us create our image using a drawing game, letting us do the hands-on work. When I get compliments wearing it, I can proudly say I made it! Highly recommend Catherine Grisez!”
