lick
LICK is a multi-media project involving sculpture, photography and writing that documents wounds and the potential beauty behind the healing process.
This body of work consists of wound sculptures that were applied to 10 different models and photographed. Specific models were chosen whom related in some way to each individual wound. The pieces are now encased in acrylic vitrines and displayed as sculpture. They are intended to remain in sculpture form (as opposed to being worn) so the wounding disappears and leaves behind the beauty – representing the positive side that can result from healing and growing through difficult times.
LICK is also a BOOK that pairs the 10 portraits with 10 different writings by various authors.
