Peridot, An excellent August birthstone to help manifest positive change and protection

1 min read

Ah peridot, the prettiest shade of green!

I love this stone for its color and propensity to drive forward motion for progress in life.

Considered the August birthstone, it is a lovely representation of this late summer month for its cheerful yellowish green color.

This is an image of a sterling silver necklace with two stones encrusted into the necklace. The peridot is bigger than the recycled diamond and the recycled diamond sits over the top of the peridot jewel.

Peridot is said to be a protective stone for its ability to protect from darkness and the 'evil eye'. It's also an excellent cleaner - helping you to let go of guilt, shame and counterproductive old beliefs.

From The Crystal Bible by Judy Hall, I love this explanation how peridot promotes well-being:

"This visionary crystal helps you understand your destiny and your spiritual purpose. Peridot helps to bring about necessary change. It assists in looking back to the past to find the gift in your experiences, and shows how to forgive yourself.

The 2 above versions of the Rock Drop Necklace are made with recycled sterling silver and Mesa Verde Peridot from Arizona. The lower one adds a recycled diamond for extra sparkle.

Peridot is said to be an extreme stone since it is often formed from volcanoes and sometimes meteors that fall to earth.

I think it's extreme in that, I want more of it and all it represents in my life to the maximum!

What about you? How do you feel about this green gemstone?
